For a first day, a walk around the lake is an easy plan. The views change throughout the loop, so the walk stays interesting without a strict itinerary. For a quieter atmosphere, go early in the morning or later in the evening. In warmer months you can combine the walk with swimming, a boat ride or a relaxed drink by the water.

Bled Castle is one of the area’s best-known landmarks. If the view matters most to you, combine the visit with one of the nearby viewpoints. Comfortable shoes are useful even for shorter climbs.

Slovenia’s capital is ideal for a relaxed city day. Explore the Old Town, walk along the Ljubljanica River, cross the famous bridges and visit Ljubljana Castle. The centre is compact and best explored on foot.
Our tip: use a parking garage or P+R and allow at least a few hours for the city centre.
Official Ljubljana guide ↗Postojna Cave is one of Slovenia’s best-known attractions and is open year-round. The classic cave tour takes about 90 minutes and includes the famous cave train. It combines very well with nearby Predjama Castle.
Our tip: especially in summer, buy tickets in advance and arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tour.
Postojna Cave official information ↗Piran offers a completely different atmosphere from Alpine Bled: narrow Venetian streets, Tartini Square, St George’s Church, the town walls and views of the Adriatic Sea. It is ideal for a full-day coastal trip.
Our tip: the historic centre is largely traffic-free. Leave the car in an official garage or car park and continue on foot or by local shuttle.
